PÉLOPÉE 2022
CHÂTEAU LE COTEAU is one of the last family estates in the prestigious Margaux appellation.
After working with his father, who passed on all his experience to him, Eric now cultivates his land with passion and humility.
The grapes from which Pélopée is made come from the oldest vineyard on the estate. The vines were grafted on site by Eric’s grandmother and are part of the estate’s winegrowing heritage.
To preserve the extraordinary expression of this terroir, we decided to age this wine in amphorae. Brilliant fruit, remarkable intensity and finesse, always with a focus on a long, greedy finish!
The pélopée is a mason wasp that builds small individual clay cells for its eggs, reminding us of the egg-shaped amphorae in which the wine rests.
