HOPLITIS VENDANGES 2023
Hoplitis are small (9–12 mm) and recognisable by their dark, compact bodies. Females carry pollen on their ventral brush. They nest in hollow stems. We encounter them around our vineyards in spring and summer on birdsfoot trefoil flowers. This species is highly endangered due to early mowing around ditches.”
