Since taking over the family estate in 1993, Eric has been committed to sustainable viticulture. The vines have never been weeded. He gradually introduced original agro-ecological methods in line with his principles (mating disruption, native plant cover, use of compost, shredding of vine shoots, preservation of ecosystems near the vines, late mowing, etc.).

The soil is worked superficially, with the aim of preserving living organisms while having the lowest possible carbon impact.
Today, the vineyard is covered with flowers in spring, providing pollen and nectar for the various pollinators, bees and bumblebees, that populate this original biotope. Nearly 200 different species have been found at Château le Coteau (Phytae project, evolution of practices towards sustainable viticulture).
